I have a client running on Windows 2008(Netbackup accelerator enabled) configured on the Netbackup Master server with Linux platform. The last successful backup on this client was on 11/26/2013. However, post this backup, the other backups have been failing with the error message on the detailed job status given below:

I tried to disable the "Use Change Journal" option to take a full weekly backup and then enable the "Use Change Journal" option again but no luck the backup failed while writing data after a point. It sometimes fails with error 14 and sometimes with 156.
Can someone help me to understand what's going wrong and what could be the solution to get a successful backup on it ?

Multiple schedules change
I need a solution
Good Morning,
Netbackup server 7.5.0.6 running on Windows Platform.
We have over 1500 Schedules in our environment and the Media Multiplexing is set to 8 on all of them. I would like to up that to 16 on all of them, is there a quick way of doing this instead of doing them 1 by 1?
I know I can use bpplschedrep via the CLI so does anyone have a little script that can be used?

Windows Server 2012 as a deduplication target for NetBackup 7.6?
I do not need a solution (just sharing information)
Now that NetBackup 7.6 is GA, I have a question and maybe someone has trialled or implemented under the FA.
Windows Server 2012 is now supported as a media server under NetBackup 7.6. Can you harness the deduplication capabilities of the OS on a NetBackup Basic Disk target for storing backup images?
So if I have a Windows Server 2012 OS with 7.6 installed and running as a Media Server with a large disk volume that has dedupe turned on.
Will NetBackup 7.6 allow this?

Strange VMWare backup problem
I need a solution
Hi,
I am currently using NBU VIP for backing up my VMware clients using NBU v7.5.0.6 onto an HP B6200 StoreOnce using OST, all my clients backup successfully apart from three VMware ones which fail with a media write error, these clients complete successfully if I back them up to na EML or an MSL but as soon as I put them to the OST disk they fail after the snapshot is created.

I would like to backup FS 5TB data in 1 server , sla backup = 8 hrs and restore =16 hrs.
what's the good configuration for Mpx and Stream?
4 Mpx & 8 streams , is it good for this?

I am using AIX 5.3.11.1 and netbackup 7.0
My Master & media server is on Windows 2008 R2.
I want to make the AIX sever as boot server. I install the client " NB_7.0_CLIENTS_GA" on AIX successfully.
But While creating SRT (bmrsrtadm and I use DVD of AIX 5.3.11.1) on AIX server I found the below error:

Error 239: SQL jobs after 7.5.0.7 upgrade
I need a solution
Last week I applied MR 7.5.0.7 and imedialty upon the next run of jobs several sql jobs faile with error 239. I noticed that all the jobs failing had a capital first letter for the client name. I changed all the letters to lowercase and that seem to correct the issue. 3 days later one of the machines is kicking out this error again.
There are not details in the job other than it shows "NULL" for the schedule.
Any ideas?
For the last 3 days backups were 100% successful using the lowercase names so it doesnt make much sense why this would just appear again. I've tried recreating the script files on the sql server and adding a capitol letter back to the name, but nothing seems to be working.

Running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 x64 and NetBackUp 7.5.0.1 with a Dell ML6000 (IBM Ultrium TD3 SCSI tape drives)
I want to do server side encryption, so I configured KMS (correctly?) and ticked the box "Encryption" in the policy.
But why does this job always fails with "status 9: a necessary extension package is not installed or not configured properly"?

Network Drives are failing with status code 71

Hello All,
I need to backup Network drives, but they are failing with status code 71, and i did some changes as per the forums also still failling, can any one help on this? i changed the client services to "admin account" on client also, and i gave the backup selection path with "\\networkdrivehostname\test", but still failing.

Wizard does not see tape drives

Seasons Greetings Everyone,
I have the following problem I am trying to resolve:
Basic Facts:
- Server is running Windows Server 2003
- Veritas NetBackup 6.5 (Plan to upgrade theis year)
- Quantum Scalar i6000 storage unit
- When running the Device configuration Wizard the following occurs
- Robot 0 is found and passes diags but none of the four drives acan be selected:
O Robot 0 <server> ADIC Scalar i2000 655Q
Drive 1 (unused element address)
Drive 2 (unused element address)
Drive 3 (unused element address)
Drive 4 (unused element address)
Everything was running well until the firmware was upgraded to 655Q.GS10201 which suggests incompatiblilty with the Windows OS.
Another Scalar i6000 was upgraded without any problem, BUT it uses a unix server.
Has anyone ever come accross a similar problem?
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm configuring netbackup connect to database domain to backup instead of backup it to tape driver.
On EMC data domain, i create two vitural drvier but when netbackup scan, it only see only one driver
Have you tried to use NBU with data domain. Can you share experience for this case
